Thanks: I love the oven method so much that when I’m done I just throw some potato tater tots (Orieda) on top of the leftover bacon greased foil. Add a little black pepper and cook turning the tatertots halfway during cooking. They turn out so crunchy and yummy!

I use a broiler pan with the bottom portion lined with foil. I spray the slotted top half with cooking spray to keep the bacon from sticking and easy clean up. All of the grease drains away from the bacon and into the bottom pan. When you are ready to clean up all you have to wash is the top slotted pan but it is generally just a quick wash with a little soap and hot water, roll up the foil and toss it in the trash and the bottom pan is ready to put away. Healthier bacon (if there is such a thing- but seriously it is bacon YUM!!!), and less mess. Win win.

I cook up a package of bacon once a week (takes two cookie sheets)for 15 minutes, cool it on rack and keep it in a covered container in the fridge. When we want bacon, microwave covered in paper towel for 45 seconds. Mess free breakfasts and lunches at our house!

This is great and much healthier as opposed to frying.

This sounds like a very good way to cook it. If I weren’t vegetarian, I would definitely try it.

I always make bacon in the oven, too, because there are too many of us to use any other method. Foil works great, but I actually use parchment paper because it is much cheaper and works as well. I also top the bacon with another piece of parchment, and then another cookie sheet to keep the bacon flat while it cooks, and to keep it from splattering.
The oven is definitely the best method for bacon!

Super idea! My bacon curls up everytime I make it and I spend unnecessary time trying to brown
the curled ends and other spots.

I’ve done the paper towel thing in the microwave, but this is much better with the foil. Thanks so much!

I would be happy about the very little cleaning… but we don’t eat bacon because someone at our house is watching their cholesterol. Thanks though!

I totally love this idea! I used to use a microwave bacon pan but I didn’t like the way the bacon turned out. I’ll have to give this a try this weekend! Your site looks great!

Nice! I’m terrible when it comes to messes, so I need to heed this one. My kitchen seriously looks like a natural disaster hit it – well, if flour, butter, sugar, cheese shreds, and various spices and dirty utensils and bowls can be considered a natural disaster.

Thanks!
