Homemade Caramel Sauce Recipe
Once you discover how frugalicious and fast it is to make your own caramel sauce, you'll never buy the stuff in the jar again. Drizzle it on ice cream, pecan pie a la mode or any dessert that needs a pop of caramel! I'm warning you, this stuff is so good you just might eat it with a spoon!
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 3 minutes
Total Time 8 minutes
Servings 4
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup brown sugar light or dark
- 3/4 cup whipping cream
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
Instructions

Put all ingredients in a small saucepan.

Bring to a boil over medium heat.

Boil 3 minutes.

Cool slightly.

If you're not using immediately, store in the refrigerator and warm in the microwave.

Love the recipe! We NEVER buy caramel out of a jar and use dark muscovado as the base and it always works a treat!
