What you need:
- Glass jars, wine glasses or any glassware
- Vinyl adhesive letters
- Paint brush
- Etching cream
- Electrical tape
Make sure you are in a well-ventilated area to giving you a breathing space when you work with the etching cream later.
Grab your glass jars and electrical tape. Tape around the area where you want to etch your letters. This will serve as the borderline of your work area on the jar.
After that, think of the word you want to put on your jar. Get your needed letters and spell it out on your glass jar.
Put some etching cream on the letters using paint brush. You may have to wear protective gloves for this task. Etching cream is pretty acidic and destroys the surface of the glass giving it a cloudy effect which is undeniable adorable.
Let the cream sit on the surface for about 20 minutes. After that, wipe off the cream using wet cloth. Avoid getting in contact with the cream. You can wash it off with water to make sure the cream is completely removed.
Once done, remove the letters from the glass.
And you are done! A custom etched glass jar you can be proud of! Ensure to thoroughly wash the glass with soap and water before using.
