3 Amazing DIYs for Luxury Products So You Can Save without Sacrifice

We all enjoy the more luxurious things in life, but there's a reason the word luxurious isn't always paired with the word “cheap.” Today's post will show you some amazing DIYs that will allow you to indulge without spending a ton of money!

bath bombs

1. Rich and Fragrant Bath Bombs

Lush bath bombs sell for $8 a piece. I don't know about you, but that's more than I want to spend for one bath! Here's how you can make your own for just pennies! Simply combine a cup of baking soda with a quarter cup of corn starch, a fourth a cup of Epsom salts, a cup of citric acid, a few drops of food coloring, and a couple of drops of your favorite essential oil. Mix the ingredients together well and add a spritz or two of water from a water bottle (just one or two – you don't want too much water). Then, press the mixture into small muffin tins and allow them to sit overnight. They are absolutely amazing and cost nowhere near $8 a piece.

2. Luxurious Body Butter

Rather than paying the outrageous prices for the silky, luxurious body butter available from big name brands, create your own. You only need three ingredients: a cup of coconut oil, a cup of cocoa butter and about 15 drops of your favorite essential oil. Just use your hand mixer to whip the ingredients together and you have a luxurious body butter that can be stored in a jar and used whenever you want.

3. Soothing and Refreshing Shave Lotion

Rather than buying the expensive shave lotion offered at a variety of boutique stores, make your own with this simple recipe. Combine half a cup of coconut oil (melted) with half a cup of your favorite unscented lotion. Add in 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 10 drops of peppermint essential oil. This soothing lotion will not only provide a smoother, softer shave, but it soothes your skin and with the addition of peppermint oil, is super refreshing!

It's so easy to make your own luxurious products that it's almost silly to pay big bucks for these products at boutique stores. Have you ever tried making your own health and beauty products? Do you have any favorite recipes? Let us know in the comments below!
