Both Dosh and Ibotta offer cash back on a lot of the items you already purchase. They are both easy to use and can help you save some serious cash.
Some of their offers will include coupon codes for certain retailers online or in store. Most of their offers are for cash back.
Website and App
Both companies have websites, but you need to download their mobile apps to use them. You can download the app on your phone for free. If you go to the website, it will only give you information about the company. These rebate apps can be great to help you save money.
Welcome Bonus
Dosh offers you a $5 sign up bonus when you link a debit card to your account. Dosh gives you cashback by using your purchases made on your card.
Ibotta offers you a $10 welcome bonus when you earn $10 in rewards. This means once you reach $10 in rewards, you will get another $10 for being a new member.

Are These Websites Real, Safe and Legit? Are They A Scam?
Dosh is real and safe to use. While it is legit, they won’t give you any payouts if you have violated any of their terms.
We wouldn’t say it’s a scam, but some people have had issues when trying to cash out their money. If you’re worried about linking your debit card, don’t be. They use a secure network and all of your information is kept safe.
Ibotta is not a scam, it is a legit way to earn money on purchases you make. There are different ways for you to verify your purchases, which is great for people who don’t keep track of every receipt.

How Dosh and Ibotta Work At These Stores:
Amazon and Amazon Prime
Dosh doesn’t offer any cashback for purchase made on Amazon at this time.
If you aren’t already a Prime member, you can get a $20 Amazon gift card. Ibotta will give you this gift card when you sign up for a year membership to Amazon Prime. There are some restrictions to this though that you’ll have to read.
Target
When you shop at Target and have Dosh, you can get 1.5% cashback on your purchases. This can quickly add up.
Ibotta has a lot of different cashback offers for when you shop at Target. Some options are cashback on groceries, household items, clothing, and so much more. You can look up the active deals through the Ibotta app.
Kohl’s
Dosh doesn’t currently have any cashback or other offers for Kohl’s.
Ibotta only offers 1.5% cash back if you shop online at Kohl’s website. There are some restrictions that you will need to read on their app or website.
Best Buy
If you have Dosh and shop at Best Buy, you can get up to 0.8% cash back. There are also other offers on the app that can help you save money on certain products.
Some items include televisions, sound systems and other products as well. They update their offers quite often, so you can always check it before you shop.
Ibotta offers you 1% cash back when you shop in store at Best Buy. This can be great if you are buying electronics, especially on Black Friday!
Nordstrom
When you shop Nordstrom Rack online, Dosh will give you up to 2.2% cashback. They also have offers for free shipping, up to 70% off certain items and so much more.
Ibotta currently doesn’t have any offers for Nordstrom.
Banana Republic
Dosh offers up to 1.5% cash back when you shop at Banana Republic. There are other offers as well for percentages off of certain items or an amount off of your total. But remember, their offers are constantly changing.
Ibotta offers you 2% cash back when you shop online. This can quickly add up into some serious rewards.
Apple
Dosh doesn’t offer anything for when you shop at Apple. Neither does Ibotta, but they do offer $4 back when you shop Apple Music.
JCPenney
You can get up to 2.2% back when you shop with Dosh. You can also get up to 70% off select items or free shipping if you are shipping online.
Ibotta offers you 1.5% cash back when you shop in store or online. There may also be some coupon codes on the app to help you save even more money.
Old Navy
You can get up to 3% cash back through Dosh and they have offers for free shipping and up to 50% off certain styles.
Ibotta doesn’t currently have any offers for Old Navy.
Uniqlo
Neither Dosh or Ibotta have offers for Uniqlo.
Groupon
Dosh doesn’t currently have any offers for Groupon, but Ibotta offers you 4% cashback. The Ibotta offer changes every so often, so you may want to check before you shop.
Home Depot
Dosh doesn’t have any offers for Home Depot. But Ibotta offers you up to $2 back on certain household cleaners.
You can also earn 1.5% cash back on certain items if you shop online. The cash back by shopping online can be very helpful if you are remodeling your home.
For Hotels and Travel
Hotels.com
While Dosh doesn’t have any offers for Hotels.com, Ibotta offers you 6% cash back on your purchases.
Travelocity
Neither Dosh nor Ibotta offer any cash back when you book online at Travelocity.
Priceline
Even though Dosh doesn’t have any offers for Priceline, Ibotta will give you up to 5% cash back. There are exclusions and restrictions to this offer though. You’ll need to read the terms on their app.
Airbnb
Neither company has any offers for Airbnb. It might be because each property is typically owned by a separate individual. It could be difficult to find coupons or cash back offers for Airbnb.
Refer a Friend or Referral Program
Dosh changes their referral bonuses from time to time. Sometimes they will give you $25 for each friend you refer once they link their debit card to their account.
Ibotta will give you $5 for each friend you refer, after they make complete an offer. They even will give you an extra $15 once you have successfully referred three friends!
Visa Credit Card and Gift Cards
Ibotta will allow you to get a pay out in the form of gift cards. Some gift card options include eBay, Amazon, iTunes, and more. Dosh does not give you the option to cash out with gift cards.
Complaints
One of the main complaints that Dosh has received is failure to pay its users. When many users ask why they haven’t been paid, they are told that they violated the company’s terms, but they aren’t given any reason as to how.
Other people just haven’t received payment from Dosh with no reasons. Sometimes the app also won’t accept a charge your card has made.
There have even been a few people that made reservations through Dosh, but they were never saved at the hotel. Due to these issues, Dosh has recently removed their travel offers for different companies. It isn’t clear when they will start to have these offers again.
As for Ibotta, a lot of users have recently complained that they haven’t received their rewards that they’ve earned. They also say that the app won’t properly read their receipts either.
Another big complaint that Ibotta has gotten is that they don’t respond. Their customer service team either doesn’t actually answer questions, they keep it very vague, or they take a long time to respond.
Some people have asked how they may have violated terms, but they don’t receive an actual reason on how they violated them. Or, the company will just say something vague, such as the fact that they can suspend an account at any time.
Security and Hacks
We haven’t heard anything about Dosh being hacked before. But there has been reports that Ibotta was hacked. Once, there were hundreds of users that had their accounts emptied with redemptions.
Ibotta has stated that there were no issues on their end and that they weren’t hacked. But it seems a little odd that so many accounts had issues around the same time.
Dosh vs Ibotta as a Company
Dosh seems to be a company that truly wants to help people earn money. They also seem like a decent company to work for if you’d like to. They say that they’ll help you further your education.
Ibotta also seems dedicated to help people save and earn money back. They have a strong team of employees that are motivated.
Both companies have received complaints though. And while we understand every company will receive complaints, most of them are the same. A lot of users complain that they don’t receive their payouts. And that’s exactly what people are using these apps for.
Customer Service
Dosh has a frequently asked questions page to hopefully help you find answers to an issue or question you may have. They don’t have a phone number to call, you can only email them through their website.
Ibotta can also only be reached through their website by sending an email. Consumers have had issues with both companies and their customer service teams. There have been complaints of explanations being too vague or the company taking a long time to respond.
USA and Canada (ca) Websites
Dosh and Ibotta both have websites and mobile apps for the USA. Neither company has any offers for Canada though at this time.
