I have made this recipe many times. It’s my easy go to cake and it so moist and amazing. I do everything step by step in the recipe and it is a no fail cake. Family loves it!
Can I substitute eggs for applesauce or bananas to make this recipe
I aumented these things:
I used cream instead of water.
I used 1Tbs Butter Flavoring, 1Tbs Vanilla Nut Flavoring in the cake and added white chocolate pudding mix.
I mixed the eggs and sour cream in one bowl, then added to the butter/cream/sugar/flavors to the egg/sour cream mixture, before adding all that to the sifted, dry ingredients.
Added 1Tbs Carmel Flavoring for the frosting.
i halved the recipe and made it an 8 inch round. Same baking time. Left the top plain. So easy!!!
I was wondering if you cool the butter/water mixture before whisking in the flour, etc.? It seems that the eggs would cook adding them to the hot mixture.
Surprisingly, you don’t. Remember, the sugar, flour, baking soda and salt go in before the eggs, so that cools it a bit. Just whisk, whisk, whisk until the lumps are gone.
