It is very important to make your living space inviting. This is the reason why we spend much on scent sprays, oil diffusers or scented candles. But get rid of those expensive brand name items! You can create you own air fresheners in just minutes. Using only baking soda and scented essential oils, you can freshen up any space to smell wonderful. Read on for instrcutions.
What you need:
- Baking soda
- Essential oils
- Candle holder
- Mason jar with lid
- Candle
- Screwdriver and hammer
- Fork
Today, we are going to create two versions of easy-to-make air fresheners. If the materials are ready, then let's begin!
Grab the baking powder. Fill a quarter of the candle holder with it.
Take your essential oil. You can choose any scents you desire for this project. Drop about 8-10 drops into the candle holder.
Use fork to stir them up. You may notice clumps start to form, but just continue to stir until they are gone.
For the finishing touch of our first version, place the candle on the middle. Then, light it up! A dual purpose project – a lovely candle and air freshener.
Now, let's start with the second version. Take the mason jar and secure the lid. Grab the screwdriver and place the tip anywhere on the lid. Then, hammer it down to create a hole. Create about 4 holes on it but it depends on how large your mason jar is.
Take out the lid. Do the same procedure as you did with the first one. Fill the jar with baking soda and drop some essential oils and mix them up with fork.
Take back the lid on the jar. Secure it in place.
And you are finished! Two versions of air fresheners – inexpensive, easy and environmental-friendly!
