Tee shirt is a year-round style. Whether you stroll around the park or out of town, you surely look stylish and sophisticated. However, a t-shirt should not always be plain. With bleach and water, you can turn those dull garments into fabulous ones. Find the instructions on how to add personal touch to your shirts.
What you need:
- Solid color shirts (no white)
- Bleach pen
- Liquid bleach
- Spray bottle
In this project, you need to use at least 50% cotton shirt. If less than that, the bleach might not work and this project becomes a fail. A hundred percent rayon is also ideal.
Grab the first shirt and insert a cardboard inside. This will protect the back side from the bleach. Take the bleach pen. Write or draw anything you want on the shirt. If finished, let it sit for about 10 minutes. You may notice the fabric start to change color. If not, take a look inside if the bleach is really taking effect.
Remove the cardboard. Take your shirt to the sink or tub and let the water flow to remove the bleach gel. After that, let it dry. You have the freedom to add designs to the shirt. Just make sure the shirt is dry before you add bleach.
If you want to obtain a splattered effect on the shirt, use liquid bleach. Pour it into the spray bottle. For this project, you should work outside to avoid inhaling too much bleach fumes and cover your hands with gloves.
Take the shirt and spray bottle. Spray along the bottom of the shirt. If you lay out your shirt, you may have to wait for the front area to dry up before turning it over to work on the back section. To make it easy for you, hang the shirt.
If you want darker color at the bottom, you may let the bleach sit on the fabric. However if you to achieve a lighter shade, rinse the fabric immediately after you sprayed some bleach to it.
And you are done! You can do various patterns or designs on solid-color shirts for customized, amazing shirts.
