Tyr Rewards is a new gaming rewards app that's available on Android and iOS. And like similar apps in the space, it lets you earn rewards by downloading and playing different mobile games. Plus, you can answer surveys to earn as well.
I decided to try out the app on my Android device to see how it works and how much it pays. Overall, I found the game variety is quite decent and similar to other top apps in the space like Mistplay and Rewarded Play. Reward variety is also excellent, and it doesn't take very long to cash out.
However, the coins system is a little confusing, so it takes some getting used to. But overall, I think Tyr Rewards is certainly worth trying if you're into rewarded gaming apps.
This review is going to cover how the app works, my experience with it, and what you should expect in terms of available offers and earning potential.
Our Key Takeaways:
- Tyr Rewards pays you for playing new games and answering surveys
- I like the variety of gaming offers and all the genres
- You only need $1 to cash out as well which is nice
- The point system is pretty confusing
- Overall expect to earn $5 to $25 per month with this app as a casual gamer
What Is Tyr Rewards?
Tyr Rewards is a free gpt app that pays you for playing different mobile games, answering surveys, and referring your friends. Overall, it's super similar to apps like Cash Giraffe and Rewarded Play and is basically a “discovery rewards” application.

You can sign up with Google, Apple, or your email. Once you sign up, you provide some info like your age and gender so Tyr Rewards can find the best offers for you. All in all, it took me about 45 seconds to download Tyr Rewards and create an account. You also have to enable usage tracking so the app can monitor your playtime for different games and pay you, so keep this in mind.
From there, you're ready to explore all of the gaming offers and ways to earn with this app, which I'll cover right away.
How Do You Earn With This App?
The main way to earn TPoints, the currency of Tyr Rewards, is by taking surveys or completing gaming offers. However, there are other ways to earn points on the home screen.
You can see a list of available games under the “Offers” tab and on your homescreen. Games outline how many TPoints you can earn in total and how many reward milestones there are. You can also see the game genre and how difficult or easy the rewarded tasks are to complete.

As you can see from my screenshot, the app's UI is pretty sleek. And I also like that Tyr Rewards has tons of gaming genres to choose from, including puzzle games, action, strategy, adventure, word, and cash game apps for more serious gamers.
Here are some of the gaming offers I have in my account, as well as how many TPoints they pay:
- 17.8 million points to play Marvel Squad
- 10.5 million points to play Empires and Puzzles
- 51.29 million points to play Animals and Coins
- 131.53 million points to play Rise of Kingdoms
When you tap on an offer, it also shows you all of the milestones you have to complete in-game to begin earning.
Here's an example from my account for the game Rush Royale: Tower. As you can see, I can earn a total of 7.57 million TPoints, and the first milestone pays 10,000 points just for completing the tutorial. You then earn more points as you complete different milestones.

This is where the point system gets pretty confusing. For example, it takes 100,000 TPoints to cash out $1 via PayPal, and same goes for Amazon gift cards. This means 100 TPoints is worth $0.00001, which is why it's better to conceptualize the point system as being 100,000 points for $1.
This means you can get a pretty fast $0.10 for completing the tutorial in Rush Royale: Tower. But earning more usually involves completing more in-depth tasks and some serious grinding. Some of the highest paying offers may even require spending your own money.
This is the same system platforms like Freecash and Scrambly use. And if you're a serious mobile gamer, you might be able to earn a decent amount.
There are also cash surveys in Tyr Rewaeds you can complete under the “Fill Out Surveys” button. Here's some of the survey rates I have in my account currently:
- 20 minutes, 189,000 points ($1.89)
- 17 minutes, 185,000 points ($1.85)
- 14 minutes, 74,000 points ($0.74)
- 9 minutes, 14,000 points ($0.14)
- 20 minutes, 28,000 points ($.28)
To be fair, these payouts are fairly comparable to other survey apps, if a little bit lower. Most survey sites we’ve looked at pay $0.50 to $3.00 for shorter surveys and sometimes more for longer ones.
Personally, I think if you're answering surveys, you should stick with standalone paid survey websites like Branded Surveys or Survey Junkie. But it's always nice when a reward app has a few earning options.
Finally, there's one other way to earn, and that's referral bonuses. This program pays you with bonus points as your referral earns. When a referral reaches 1 million points, you’ll get 500,000 points of your own. When they reach 2 million points, you’ll get 1 million.
Overall, the gaming offers are really where Tyr Rewards shines. And I like that most games have 10 to 20 milestones, so there's some low-hanging fruit and then higher-paying offers if you're up for a grind.
Is Tyr Rewards Legit?
Tyr Rewards is highly rates on the Google Play Store with a 4.5 star average rating and over 195,000 reviews. The app is far less popular on iOS, with a 2.7 star rating and only 22 reviews. Overall, this app seems legit and like it pays players. I was also able to download a game and earn some coins for my effort, so it's working as intended.
Based on reviews from other players, it seems like the iPhone version of the app is super glitchy. If you're on iOS, I suggest checking out our list of the best real money iPhone games instead of using Tyr Rewards. But if you're looking for Android games to make money, definitely check out Tyr Rewards.
Earning Potential & Cashing Out
How much you make with Tyr Rewards really depends on the kind of gamer you are and how much time you put into it. For free casual players, I think earning $5 to $10 per month with this app is realistic. If you spend money in-game or spend a lot of time playing, you could maybe make $50 to $100 or more.
Again, platforms like Kashkick and Swagbucks are the same. You can earn a little bit as a free player, or much more if you grind.
As for rewards, there are tons of options including:
- PayPal
- Sephora
- StubHub
- Wayfair
- JCPenny
- AMC
- TJMax
- Marshalls
- HomeGoods

There are also dozens of charities you can donate to. They are actually far more charity options than retailers—organizations like the Red Cross, World Wildlife Foundation, March of Dimes, and others.
Again, it takes 100,000 points to redeem a $1 gift card or PayPal cash payment. You can get slight discounts if you save up and redeem higher value rewards, however, so it might be worth saving up to at least $5 or $10 to cash out.

Other Apps Like Tyr Rewards I Suggest Trying
I've been testing gaming reward apps and writing about them for about 7 years now. In that time, I've tried dozens of apps and reward websites. So, here are some other great ones like Tyr Rewards you can add to your list!
I also put out a video covering more of my favorite game apps that pay real money recently. So give this a watch if you want even more alternatives!

Is There Customer Support?
There’s a chat feature in the app. There is also a Discord Community where you could ask your questions in a group chat. We didn’t try out the support feature ourselves, but some of the reviews in the iOS store indicated fairly slow responses.

Is Tyr Rewards Worth It? – My Final Thoughts
Tyr Rewards isn't going to make anyone rich. But if you spend time playing mobile games every week, it could be worth using. Just have realistic expectations since this app doesn't pay very much unless you put a lot of time into it.
Overall, I think it's a fun phone side hustle. I'm not the biggest gamer, so I probably won't use it beyond my first cash out of $1. But again, this app is great if you're a serious Android gamer.
